Subaru (part of Fuji Industries) has been producing its quirky boxer engined four wheel drive vehicles since 1954. Subaru has been selling cars in the U.S. since 1968 when they founded the Subaru of America, Inc. in Philadelphia. Today Subaru has a market share of over 1.5% in North America. Subaru, traditionally known for its turbocharged sports sedans and hatchbacks, now has a range of vehicles on sale including an SUV (the Tribecca). The Fuji Heavy Industries has a long history as a technological innovator and for this reason Subaru have some of the most advanced all-wheel drive and turbocharging technologies in the world. Subaru also has a research and development site located in Ann Arbor, MI. The Subaru line up for North America features the Subaru B9 Tribeca SUV, Subaru Forester SUV, Subaru Outback, Subaru Legacy and the Subaru Impreza. Tribecca and Forester are the SUV models with the Tribecca being the traditional, large 7 seater SUV and the Forester is a compact 5 seater with a more sporting ride. Subaru has a reputation for reliability the world over. It is often stated that Subaru owners are amongst the happiest of all owners and many refuse to change brands. Subaru claim that 95% of all Subaru vehicles are still on the road due to their reliability and longevity. Subaru vehicles come with a Powertrain Warranty of 5 years or 60,000 miles in addition to the new vehicle warranty of 3 years or 36,000 miles, however you are unlikely to need either.
